His infatuation for horses began while working at Belmont Racetrack as a Veterinary Technician. Joseph Mussillo is the owner and operator of JM Equine Services. He has been working with horses since 2007. His infatuation for horses began while working at Belmont Racetrack as a Veterinary Technician. While working at Belmont Racetrack, he discovered the increasing need for equine dentistry, and the impact this profession had on the overall health of the horses.
In 2008 Joseph graduated college from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Following his bachelor’s degree, he attended The American School of Equine Dentistry and obtained a certification in horse dentistry in 2010.

Over the length of his career Joseph has worked on thousands of horses of all breeds and disciplines. From his residential address in Long Island New York, extending across the United States. Some of these horses include 2013 Travers Stakes Winner “Will Take Charge”, 2015 Triple Crown Winner “American Pharoah”, and 2016 Triple Crown Win
Over the length of his career Joseph has worked on thousands of horses of all breeds and disciplines. From his residential address in Long Island New York, extending across the United States. Some of these horses include 2013 Travers Stakes Winner “Will Take Charge”, 2015 Triple Crown Winner “American Pharoah”, and 2016 Triple Crown Winner “Justify”. In 2019 he was also interviewed by NewsDay New York for his hard work and dedication to the Belmont Racetrack horses, working on 10-30 horses per day.
Currently Joseph has expanded more into the barrel racing circuit discipline continuing to work on horses, as well as small animal dentistry.

Working on horses is not considered a job to Joseph, it is a passion and even a form of therapy. The relationship he shares with these animals, is the reason why he loves doing what he does. His goal is to share his knowledge and horsemanship with all owners, so they as well can develop an extreme understanding and connection with their animals.
